SolarEdge ZigBee Wi-Fi Antenna Kit SE-ANT-ZBWIFI-KIT
SolarEdge SE-ANT-ZBWIFI-KIT external antenna kit for Wi-Fi and ZigBee communication on SolarEdge inverters.
2.4-2.5 GHz band, 5 dBi maximum gain, 360° omnidirectional pattern. Suitable for indoor or outdoor use and mountable away from the inverter for wider range. 5-year warranty.
The SE-ANT-ZBWIFI-KIT antenna kit is the original SolarEdge external antenna used to connect a SolarEdge device to the monitoring platform over Wi-Fi or to Smart Energy devices over ZigBee. Being external to the inverter, it recovers range and signal stability exactly where the inverter sits in an unfavourable position.
When do you need an external antenna?
PV inverters often end up in garages, basements, plant rooms or masonry enclosures — the worst possible places for a 2.4 GHz radio link. The result is the familiar monitoring connection that keeps dropping, with gaps in production data and alerts arriving late. Moving the antenna outside the enclosure and placing it clear of metal obstacles restores the link without pulling an Ethernet cable back to the router.
The antenna is also required for ZigBee communication between the inverter and Smart Energy devices; in that case the inverter must also be fitted with the corresponding ZigBee plug-in.

Frequently asked questions
Which SolarEdge inverters is this antenna compatible with?
With the SExxx-xxxxxBxxx family, i.e. the SetApp-configured models. For other inverter generations, check the part number on the front label before ordering, because SolarEdge lists different antenna and plug-in references.
Is the antenna alone enough to use ZigBee?
No. Wi-Fi is built into the SolarEdge device, while ZigBee communication towards Smart Energy products also requires the ZigBee plug-in fitted in the inverter. The antenna is the radio element shared by both functions.
Can it be installed outdoors?
Yes, the antenna is rated for both indoor and outdoor use. It should still be positioned as described in the manual, away from large metal surfaces that shield the 2.4 GHz signal.
How much range does it add compared with the internal antenna?
Rated gain is 5 dBi with a 360° omnidirectional pattern on the horizontal plane. The real benefit depends mostly on placement: getting the antenna out of a metal cabinet or a shielded room usually matters more than any antenna gain figure.
How long is the warranty?
The manufacturer warranty on this communication accessory is 5 years, separate from the inverter and power optimizer warranties.
