The QIT3 is the single-phase AC electrical panel from the SECSUN range, designed to protect 3 kWp residential photovoltaic systems with 1 single-phase inverter. Made in Italy with an insulating enclosure IP65 class II, it is supplied pre-wired and ready for installation. Its compact dimensions (164 × 200 × 116 mm) make it suitable for both indoor and outdoor installations in limited spaces.
Why do you need an AC panel for photovoltaics?
The AC panel is the component that ensures electrical protection of the inverter and of the photovoltaic system on the AC side. It integrates thermal-magnetic and residual-current protections against overloads, short circuits, and earth leakage, as well as the surge protective device that shields the inverter from grid transients. Without an adequate AC panel, the inverter is exposed to irreparable damage from grid events and the system is not compliant with CEI 64-8 standards.

Single-phase inverter compatibility
The QIT3 is compatible with all major 3 kW single-phase photovoltaic inverters: Huawei SUN2000-3KTL, Solax X1-3.0T, SMA Sunny Boy 3.0, Fronius Primo 3.0, Growatt MIN 3000TL-X, Goodwe GW3000-ES, Solis Mini 3600 and others. The class A RCD ensures protection also for inverters with EMI filters that generate leakage currents with a DC component, in compliance with CEI 64-8.

Frequently asked questions
Does the QIT3 include the CEI 0-21 interface relay?
No. The QIT3 is an AC protection panel that does not include the CEI 0-21 interface relay. For systems connected to the Italian public grid with power above 11.08 kW, a dedicated interface panel is required. For 3 kWp systems, it is advisable to check with your local distributor (e.g., E-Distribuzione) whether the inverter has a certified internal interface function, which may make a separate interface panel unnecessary.
Can the QIT3 be installed outdoors?
Yes. The IP65 rating and class II construction make the QIT3 suitable for outdoor installation, protected from dust and direct water jets. Class II eliminates the need to earth the enclosure. It is recommended to install it sheltered from prolonged direct sunlight to preserve the service life of the internal components.
What breaker rating is included in the QIT3?
The QIT3 is configured for 3 kWp systems. For a 3 kW single-phase inverter at 230V, the rated current is about 13A. Contact MR WATT to find out the exact rating included and the available options, so you can select the most suitable one for the inverter used.
What is the difference between QIT3 and QIT6?
The QIT3 is sized for 3 kWp single-phase photovoltaic systems with 1 inverter, while the QIT6 is the version for 6 kWp systems. The QIT6 also includes an additional under-load double-pole isolator that allows the circuit to be physically isolated during maintenance, a feature not present in the basic QIT3. For professional or business installations, the QIT6 with isolator is the recommended choice.
Is the QIT3 pre-wired or do I need to wire it on site?
The QIT3 is supplied already wired and ready for installation. On site, you only need to connect the cables coming from the inverter (AC side) and those going to the home distribution board, following the diagram provided by MR WATT. No internal assembly is required.
