ZCS 120 kW DC charger CHAdeMO + CCS2 Dual
120 kW DC fast charging station with one CCS2 up to 120 kW and one CHAdeMO up to 60 kW, 5 m cables, 10.1" touch display, start via RFID, app or Plug&Play, MID meter and OCPP. Floor-standing, IP54. ZCS Azzurro part number ZVD-120K-POWER/D.
The ZCS Azzurro ZVD-120K-POWER/D is a 120 kW DC fast charging station in the Dual version, with a CCS2 connector reaching 120 kW and a CHAdeMO connector reaching 60 kW, both with a 5 m cable. It is the choice for operators of a mixed fleet or a company service area who want maximum power on modern cars without excluding CHAdeMO vehicles.
120 kW, but not equally for everyone
The rated power is not the same on both connectors. CCS2 works between 200 and 1000 V and delivers up to 120 kW: cars with an 800 V architecture benefit fully, drawing less current for the same power. CHAdeMO works between 200 and 500 V with 125 A at most, and is limited to 60 kW. In practice the station performs best on CCS2 cars while still giving CHAdeMO vehicles a decent fast charge.

Above 100 kW: the grid connection question
At full power the station draws 190 A per phase at 400 V, about 130 kVA. In many European countries low-voltage connections are capped at around 100 kW, and above that a medium-voltage connection with its own substation is usually required. If the site already has an MV substation with spare capacity, the station is fed from the low-voltage board after the transformer; otherwise the connection cost must be part of the project's business case. Check the thresholds with your grid operator.
Frequently asked questions
How much can be charged in 20 minutes?
With a CCS2 car that accepts 120 kW, up to about 35-40 kWh are delivered in 20 minutes, the equivalent of 200 km of range. Each vehicle has its own charging curve: power drops as the battery fills up.
Do the two connectors work together?
The manufacturer specifies two outputs able to charge simultaneously; the station's power is shared between the two connected vehicles.
Why the Dual rather than the Pure with two CCS2?
Only if there are CHAdeMO vehicles in the fleet or among customers. For an all-CCS2 fleet the Pure version ZVD-120K-POWER/P serves two modern cars at maximum power.
Can it be used as a public charger?
Yes, meeting the EU AFIR Regulation requirements for public charging points of 50 kW and above, including ad hoc payment by card. The station comes with RFID, app and Plug&Play: payment must be integrated through the operator's OCPP platform.
How much space is needed?
The station measures 1830 x 750 x 525 mm and weighs 228 kg: it needs a concrete platform, room for vehicles on both sides and service space to open the cabinet for maintenance.
