The EPEVER TRIRON 3210N-2U is a 30A MPPT charge controller for 12V or 24V off-grid battery systems. Its MPPT algorithm tracks the solar array's maximum power point with a declared tracking efficiency of at least 99.5% and peak conversion efficiency up to 98%.

The 2U configuration includes the DS2 LCD display and UCS interface module. DS2 shows PV, battery and load voltage, current, power and energy data, while UCS adds RS485 communication for monitoring and configuration plus two USB ports with a combined 5V / 2.2A output.

Why choose a 30A MPPT charge controller?

The TRIRON 3210N is a practical step above a 20A controller when more charging capacity is required without moving to the larger 40A model. It supports 390W rated PV charging power on a 12V bank or 780W on a 24V bank. Charging and LOAD output currents are both rated at 30A.

Compared with a PWM controller, MPPT can make better use of panel voltage, especially when the battery is discharged, the modules are cold or array voltage is higher than battery voltage.

What is included with TRIRON3210N-2U?

  • EPEVER TRIRON 3210N 30A power module.
  • DS2 LCD display for viewing and setting parameters.
  • UCS interface with RS485 communication.
  • Two 5V USB outputs rated at 2.2A combined.
  • Compatibility with optional MT50, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi adapters and EPEVER data loggers.

How to size the solar array

Rated charging power is 390W with a 12V battery or 780W with a 24V battery. Array selection cannot be based on watts alone: string Voc must remain below 92V at 25°C and below the absolute 100V limit in the coldest expected conditions.

Panel Voc increases as temperature falls, so the module temperature coefficient and a safety margin must be used. The MPPT range ends at 72V, meaning an array can remain below the absolute limit yet operate outside the best tracking range.

Compatible batteries and configuration

The controller supports sealed lead-acid, AGM, GEL and flooded batteries, user-defined profiles and lithium batteries such as LiFePO4 and NMC when voltage settings comply with battery and BMS requirements.

For lithium batteries, do not rely on automatic 12/24V detection. Set the system voltage and charging thresholds correctly before use.

Installation and protection

The IP30 enclosure requires a clean, dry and ventilated indoor location. Connect the battery first, then a compatible DC load and finally the PV array; disconnect in reverse order.

A power inverter must be connected directly to the battery with correctly sized cables, fuses and isolation, not to the LOAD output.

Frequently asked questions

Are the DS2 display and UCS interface included?

Yes. TRIRON3210N-2U identifies the configuration supplied with DS2 and UCS, including RS485 and dual USB.

Can I use a LiFePO4 battery?

Yes, if voltage thresholds are compatible with the battery and BMS. Set system voltage manually and verify all parameters.

How many panels can I connect?

The rated limit is 390W at 12V or 780W at 24V, while also respecting 92V Voc at 25°C, 100V in cold conditions and the MPPT range to 72V.

Can it be installed outdoors?

Not directly. IP30 requires a covered, dry and ventilated location protected from water and condensation.

Can I connect an inverter to LOAD?

Not a power inverter. Connect it directly to the battery with correctly sized protection and cabling.
