IAC-RBAT-5KCINV-02

Battery-to-inverter cable set IAC-RBAT-5KCINV-02 for SolarEdge Home 48V storage, in the version for StorEdge inverters with code SE*K-RWS. Contains 2 DC cables, 1 communication cable and 1 grounding cable. It is not compatible with Home Hub SE*K-RWB48 inverters, for which the -01 version is required. One is needed per tower.

The IAC-RBAT-5KCINV-02 cable set connects the SolarEdge Home 48V (BAT-05K48) battery tower to inverters from the StorEdge line, those with code SE*K-RWS. It is the counterpart to the -01 set, which is instead used for Home Hub inverters: same function, different connectors and wiring. It includes two direct current cables, one communication cable and one grounding cable.

The inverter code determines which of the two to order

This is the check to make before adding the item to the cart, because the mistake only becomes apparent once the system has been installed:

  • inverter code with RWSStorEdge line → requires IAC-RBAT-5KCINV-02 (this item)
  • inverter code with RWB48Home Hub line (SE5K, SE8K, SE10K) → requires IAC-RBAT-5KCINV-01

The two sets cannot be adapted to each other. In the field, the code can be read on the inverter nameplate or on the transport document: a five-second check that avoids a job site standstill.

A copy may already be in the battery package

For this item, the product documentation states that one copy of the set is supplied together with the battery pack. Since package contents vary between versions and batches, and the SolarEdge datasheet still lists all accessories as available for separate purchase, the practical rule is only one: check the packing list upon delivery before ordering. This helps avoid buying the same cable twice while also ensuring you are not left without one.

What is needed to complete the tower

The battery-inverter set must be ordered once per tower. Modules after the first are connected with the battery-to-battery set IAC-RBAT-5KCBAT-01, one for each additional module; a second tower is connected with IAC-RBAT-5KCTOW-01. These are supplemented by the top cover IAC-RBAT-5KMTOP-01, mandatory and required in a quantity of one per tower, and the floor stand IAC-RBAT-5KFSTD-01, which is optional.

Frequently asked questions

How do I know whether my inverter is StorEdge or Home Hub?

Simply read the full code on the nameplate. If it contains the code RWS, the inverter belongs to the StorEdge line and requires this set, the IAC-RBAT-5KCINV-02. If it contains RWB48, it is a Home Hub inverter, such as SE5K-RWB48BFN4, SE8K-RWB48BFN4 or SE10K-RWB48BFN4, and the IAC-RBAT-5KCINV-01 set must be ordered. The two items are not interchangeable.

Do I need to buy it, or is it already inside the battery box?

The product documentation indicates that one copy of this set is supplied together with the battery pack, while the SolarEdge datasheet lists all accessories as available for separate purchase. Since package contents change between versions and batches, the safest option is to check the packing list upon delivery before issuing the accessory order.

How many are needed with multiple battery modules?

Only one per tower, because it connects the inverter to the first module in the column. The following modules are connected to each other with the IAC-RBAT-5KCBAT-01 battery-to-battery set, one for each additional module. If the batteries are distributed across two towers, the IAC-RBAT-5KCTOW-01 tower-to-tower set is also required.

What happens if I connect the battery with non-original cables?

The system will not be recognized during commissioning. In addition to the DC power conductors, the set includes the CAN bus communication cable to the inverter and the grounding cable, with dedicated connectors. Improvised wiring compromises commissioning with SetApp and voids the battery and inverter warranty.

I damaged a connector: can I buy it separately?

Yes. SolarEdge provides the IAC-RBAT-5KCNCT-01 kit, ten replacement connectors for the connection between the battery and inverter of the low-voltage SolarEdge Home battery, and the IAC-RBAT-5KCNCT-02 kit for the tower-to-tower connection. These are spare parts designed for installers who work regularly and want to keep stock in their warehouse.
