Polycrystalline solar cell 2"x3" or 52x78mm with 2BB
52x78 mm (2x3 inch) polycrystalline solar cell rated about 0.73 Wp with 2 busbars. Nominal values: Vmp 0.544 V, Imp 1.40 A, Voc 0.64 V and 18.7% efficiency.
A compact rectangular format for mini modules, prototypes, models and STEM labs. This is a bare cell and requires ribbon, soldering, support and encapsulation.
The 52x78 mm 2BB polycrystalline solar cell produces approximately 0.73 Wp for small photovoltaic modules, prototypes, models and educational activities. Nominal maximum-power values are 0.544 V and 1.40 A.
It is not a ready-to-use panel. Module construction requires ribbon compatible with both busbars, controlled soldering, mechanical support, insulation and encapsulation against moisture and impact.
Why choose 52x78 mm with 2BB?
The rectangular shape supports small elongated modules, while two busbars provide two main current-collection lines. It is useful where lower current and less space are required than with 78x78 or 78x156 mm cells.
For repairs, dimensions, technology, current, busbars and electrical data must match. A 2BB layout is not automatically interchangeable with 1BB or 3BB.

Select the configuration from the voltage required by the load or controller. To increase current, connect only complete matched strings in parallel.
STEM projects and educational photovoltaic kits
This cell is convenient for experiments on light, angle, shading, series and parallel circuits. The small format keeps the test bench compact and allows strings with more individual elements.

How to solder a 2BB cell
Use ribbon and flux compatible with both busbars, a clean tip, controlled temperature and short contact times. Do not bend the cell, and check continuity, polarity and voltage after each string.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a complete photovoltaic panel?
No. It is one approximately 0.73 Wp cell requiring interconnections, support, insulation and encapsulation.
What does 2BB mean?
It identifies two main current-collection busbars. Ribbon and soldering layout must be compatible.
How many cells are needed for a small 12V module?
Twenty-four cells provide about 13.06 V nominal Vmp. Thirty-six provide about 19.58 V for applications requiring more voltage headroom.
Is it suitable for prototypes and laboratories?
Yes. Its compact size and specified values support series/parallel tests and voltage-current measurements.
Can it be used outdoors without protection?
No. It must be encapsulated and protected from moisture, impact and bending.
