The Alfen Eve Double Plus 3PH 1FC T2S (Alfen part number 904463023) is the two-point charging station with shuttered Type 2 sockets and one 32 A supply feeder. Each socket reaches 22 kW, with automatic sharing when two vehicles charge. Compared with the standard-socket version there is one important difference in protection: each socket integrates a residual current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection (RCBO).
What the shutters are for
A shutter closes the socket contacts when no plug is inserted: it prevents live parts from being reached with fingers or objects and protects the contacts from dust and dirt. It is required in some European countries and in many specifications for locations accessible to the public or frequented by children: hotel car parks, healthcare facilities, schools, shopping centres. Local requirements should be checked with the designer.
Integrated RCBO: what it means for the installer
In this version each socket has a 3P+N 40 A, 30 mA, Type A RCBO combined with a 6 mA DC fault current detection device according to IEC 62955. Each charging point thus has, inside the station, both residual current and overcurrent protection, as required for each connection point by the standards for charging installations (IEC 60364-7-722).

Frequently asked questions
How does it differ from the T2 version without shutters?
Two things: the sockets have the safety shutter and the integrated protection is a Type A RCBO with 6 mA DC detection instead of a Type B RCD. Power, display, communication and dimensions are the same.
What is needed upstream of the station?
For this variant Alfen specifies an RCD of at least 100 mA (Type B, or selective Type A) and a 4P 40 A circuit breaker or gG fuse on the supply feeder.
Do the shutters make it harder to use?
No. The shutter opens when the cable plug is inserted and closes by itself when it is removed: for the user, charging is identical to a standard socket.
With two cars, how much does each get?
With one 32 A three-phase feeder the total power is 22 kW: with two cars connected it is split, about 11 kW each. With one car the output can deliver the full 22 kW.
Is there a two-feeder version?
Yes, the Eve Double Plus 3PH 2FC T2S has two independent feeders and guarantees 22 kW to each socket even with two cars connected.
