The EPEVER TRIRON 4210N-2U is the highest-current model in the 100V TRIRON range for 12V or 24V battery systems. It supports rated PV charging power up to 520W at 12V or 1040W at 24V, with declared MPPT tracking efficiency of at least 99.5% and peak conversion efficiency up to 98%.

The 2U configuration includes the DS2 LCD display and UCS interface. DS2 displays and configures the main PV, battery and load parameters; UCS provides RS485 communication plus two USB ports with a combined 5V / 2.2A output.

When should you choose the 40A TRIRON 4210N?

This model is intended for off-grid systems with larger PV arrays, higher-capacity battery banks and DC loads requiring more headroom than the 20A or 30A versions. A 24V system can use up to 1040W of rated PV charging power while reducing cable current compared with an equivalent 12V design.

The controller automatically limits charging current and power to its rated values. This does not permit exceeding the PV voltage limit: array Voc must always be checked at the coldest expected site temperature.

What is included with TRIRON4210N-2U?

How to size the solar array

Rated charging power is 520W on a 12V battery bank or 1040W on a 24V bank. Array open-circuit voltage must also remain below 92V at 25°C and below the absolute 100V limit under the coldest expected conditions.

Panel Voc rises as temperature falls, so array design must use the module temperature coefficient and include a safety margin. The MPPT range ends at 72V; remaining below 100V does not automatically mean the string is operating inside the best tracking range.

Compatible batteries and configuration

The TRIRON 4210N supports sealed lead-acid, AGM, GEL and flooded batteries, user-defined profiles and LiFePO4 or NMC lithium batteries when voltage settings comply with battery and BMS requirements.

For lithium batteries, set the 12V or 24V system manually and verify all charging thresholds before operation. Equalisation and lead-acid temperature compensation must not be applied to lithium chemistry.

Installation and safety

The IP30 enclosure requires a clean, dry and ventilated indoor location. Leave clearance for heat dissipation and protect the unit from water, condensation, conductive dust and heat sources.

Connect the battery first, then a compatible DC load and finally the PV array; disconnect in reverse order. A power inverter must be connected directly to the battery with correctly sized cables, fuses and isolation, not to the LOAD output.

Recommended applications

  • Small and medium off-grid residential solar systems.
  • Cabins, workshops and autonomous equipment.
  • Motorhomes and vehicles with larger 12V or 24V battery banks.
  • Marine installations in a dry and ventilated compartment.
  • Telecommunications, monitoring and autonomous lighting.

Frequently asked questions

Are DS2 and UCS included?

Yes. TRIRON4210N-2U identifies the configuration supplied with the DS2 display and UCS interface, including RS485 and dual USB.

Is 12V or 24V better?

It depends on the battery bank, but at 24V the controller supports 1040W rated PV power and reduces cable current compared with an equivalent 12V design.

Can I connect a LiFePO4 battery?

Yes, if the charging parameters match the battery and its BMS. Set system voltage and charging thresholds manually before use.

How many panels can I connect?

Up to 520W rated at 12V or 1040W at 24V, while also respecting 92V Voc at 25°C, the 100V cold-weather limit and the MPPT range up to 72V.

Can it be installed outdoors?

Not directly. IP30 requires a covered, dry and ventilated location protected from rain, spray and condensation.
