The SolaX TBMS-S51-8 is the Battery Management System (BMS) for the high-voltage storage tower TSYS-HS51 by SolaX Power. It is the mandatory component that coordinates and supervises the entire tower — managing safety, cell monitoring, communication with the inverter, and optimization of charge/discharge cycles. The base is included in the supply, ensuring stable floor installation.

TSYS-HS51 System — modular architecture from 10.2 to 66.5 kWh

The TBMS-S51-8 is the central controller of the TSYS-HS51 ecosystem, which consists of three elements:

  • TBMS-S51-8 (this product) — BMS with base included
  • TP-HS51 — LFP battery modules of 5.1 kWh (4.59 kWh usable at 90% DoD)
  • Series Box (TCBox-70) — required to connect two towers when exceeding 7 modules per tower

A single tower managed by the TBMS-S51-8 can host 2 to 8 battery modules (from 10.2 to 40.8 kWh). With the addition of the Series Box, it is possible to connect up to 3 towers for a maximum system capacity of 66.5 kWh.

BMS Functions — safety and optimization

The TBMS-S51-8 operates on multiple levels of protection and management:

  • Real-time monitoring — voltage, temperature, and state of charge (SOC) of each individual cell, 24/7
  • Cell balancing — ensures all modules charge and discharge evenly, extending the system’s lifespan
  • Overcharge, short-circuit, and over-temperature protection — automatic shutdown in case of abnormal conditions
  • Integrated battery heating — maintains performance even in cold climates, ensuring operation at low temperatures
  • Remote diagnostics and firmware updates — accessible remotely via the SolaX platform

Max current 70A — for high-power systems

The TBMS-S51-8 supports a maximum charge and discharge current of 70A, making it suitable for systems with high instantaneous power demands — both for fast charging from the photovoltaic system and for supplying power during household consumption peaks or in backup mode.

Inverter compatibility and off-grid functionality

Communication takes place via CAN and RS485 interfaces, compatible with all SolaX hybrid inverters of the X1-Hybrid and X3-Hybrid series. When used with a compatible SolaX hybrid inverter, the TSYS-HS51 system offers full off-grid functionality — automatically and uninterruptedly powering household loads in the event of a blackout.
