The SolarEdge IAC-RBAT-RWYCBL-01 Y-cable kit connects multiple SolarEdge Home 48V batteries (Energy Bank) in parallel, managed by the same Home Hub or StorEdge inverter, allowing the capacity of multiple modules to be combined on the same battery DC bus.
Why is a Y-cable needed for batteries in parallel?
When a system includes more than one SolarEdge Home 48V battery connected to the same inverter, the modules are not connected directly in series but via dedicated MC4 Y-connectors: SolarEdge does not approve third-party Y-connectors for this connection, only its official kit or the alternative standard connections indicated in the technical notes.

When is this accessory required?
Whenever the project includes more than one SolarEdge Home 48V battery connected to a single Home Hub inverter: the Y-cables distribute the DC connection between the modules without changing the tower logic already used for mounting accessories (brackets, covers, tower-to-tower cable sets) documented for the same battery range.

Can I use generic Y-connectors instead of this kit?
No: SolarEdge does not approve third-party Y-connectors for the parallel connection of Home 48V batteries, in order to ensure mechanical sealing and current carrying capacity suitable for the system.
Is a Y-cable needed for each additional battery?
Yes, each module beyond the first requires its own Y-connection on the shared parallel bus, according to the diagram provided in the SolarEdge technical notes for connecting multiple Home batteries to the same inverter.
Is it compatible with both single-phase and three-phase inverters?
Yes, the parallel connection of Home 48V batteries follows the same logic on both single-phase and three-phase Home Hub inverters; only the upstream inverter model changes, not the cable kit.
Does this cable replace the battery-inverter cable set?
