IAC-RBAT-5KMTOP-01
IAC-RBAT-5KMTOP-01 top cover for SolarEdge Home 48V (BAT-05K48) battery towers. Unlike the floor stand, it is required, and one is needed per tower regardless of the number of modules: just one even for a column of three batteries, two if the storage system is split across two towers. The heights published by SolarEdge already include it.
The IAC-RBAT-5KMTOP-01 top cover closes the upper part of a SolarEdge Home 48V (BAT-05K48) battery tower. Unlike the floor stand, which is optional, this component is required at a rate of one per tower: without it, the column remains open at the upper connections and the installation is not complete.
One per tower, not one per battery
This is the rule to keep in mind when preparing the order. A tower with one module, one with two, and one with three all require the exact same cover, just one. If, on the other hand, the storage system is distributed across two separate columns, two covers are needed. The same criterion applies to the IAC-RBAT-5KFSTD-01 floor stand, with the difference that it remains optional while the cover does not.
How it affects the installation height
The heights published by SolarEdge already include the top cover, so these are the values to use during the site survey:
| Configuration | With floor stand | Without stand |
| 1 module + cover | 670 mm | 620 mm |
| 2 modules + cover | 1.170 mm | 1.120 mm |
| 3 modules + cover | 1.670 mm | 1.620 mm |
The width and depth remain those of the battery module, 540 x 240 mm. The clearances indicated in the installation manual for ventilation and access to the connections must also be respected.
The other tower accessories

Frequently asked questions
Is it mandatory or can I leave the tower without a cover?
SolarEdge indicates it as required, one for each tower, unlike the floor stand, which is optional. The cover closes the upper part of the column and protects the upper connections: it should therefore always be included in the order, even when the tower consists of a single battery module.
How many are needed with three battery modules?
Just one, because the cover closes the tower and not the individual module. However, if the modules are distributed across two separate columns, for example in a four- or five-module configuration, two covers must be ordered, one for each tower.
Does the cover change the total height of the storage system?
The heights indicated by SolarEdge already refer to the tower complete with cover: 670 mm for one module, 1.170 mm for two and 1.670 mm for three, with the floor stand; 50 mm less in each case without the stand. These are the values to check during the site survey, together with the clearances required by the manual for ventilation.
Is it also suitable for the SolarEdge Energy Bank battery?
No. This cover has code IAC-RBAT-5KMTOP-01 and is specific to the low-voltage SolarEdge Home 48V battery, which is installed in a tower. The Energy Bank is a different battery, with dedicated accessories and different codes. Before ordering, it is always advisable to check the code on the datasheet of the battery actually installed.
What is needed to complete the order for a tower?
In addition to the battery modules and the top cover, you need a set of cables to the inverter, which differs depending on whether it is from the Home Hub or StorEdge line, a set of battery-to-battery cables for each module after the first, and the tower-to-tower set if there is more than one column. The floor stand is the only truly optional accessory on the list.
