It brings single-phase HD-Wave inverters with display (not Home Network ready from the factory) up to the current communication standard, enabling the SolarEdge Home Battery / Energy Bank and wireless control of Smart Energy devices.
The SolarEdge ENET-HBPV3D-01 kit is the retrofit accessory that upgrades a single-phase HD-Wave inverter with LCD display to the SolarEdge Home Network communication standard. The kit contains the Home Network-ready communication board with display, the matching plug-in card and the antenna: once installed, the inverter can talk wirelessly to the battery and to the SolarEdge Smart Energy ecosystem.
When do you need the ENET-HBPV3D-01 kit?
Earlier HD-Wave inverters (LCD display, non-SetApp configuration, part numbers SExxxxH-RWxxxNxxx) are not factory-ready for the SolarEdge Home Network. The typical case is an existing PV system where the customer now wants to add storage: without this kit the inverter simply cannot manage a SolarEdge Home Battery / Energy Bank.
With the kit fitted, the same inverter becomes the hub of the system and can drive Smart Energy devices wirelessly — hot water controller, dry contact, smart socket — pushing surplus PV energy into household loads instead of exporting it to the grid.

How it is installed
Installation is for qualified personnel only: isolate the inverter following the manufacturer's procedure, replace the original communication board with the one supplied, insert the plug-in card into its socket and connect the antenna. After restart, commissioning and device pairing are completed from the SolarEdge app, making sure the inverter firmware is up to date.

Which SolarEdge inverters accept the ENET-HBPV3D-01?
Single-phase HD-Wave inverters with LCD display and non-SetApp configuration (the SExxxxH-RWxxxNxxx family), i.e. units that are not Home Network ready from the factory. SetApp or already Home Network-ready inverters require different plug-in part numbers.
Can I add a battery to an older HD-Wave inverter without this kit?
No. The SolarEdge Home Battery (Energy Bank) communicates with the inverter over the SolarEdge Home Network. If the installed inverter is not Home Network ready, the ENET-HBPV3D-01 kit is the required step to enable storage without replacing the inverter.
Does the kit include the antenna?
Yes. The package includes the communication board with display, the matching Home Network plug-in card and the antenna, so no additional communication accessories are needed for the network function.
Which Smart Energy devices can I control after the upgrade?
All SolarEdge Home Smart Energy devices compatible with the Home Network — such as the hot water controller, the dry contact and smart sockets — plus the storage battery. Coordination is handled by the inverter and the monitoring platform.
Can the system owner install it?
No: the job requires opening the inverter and isolating it according to the manufacturer's procedure, so it must be carried out by a qualified installer. Unauthorised work may void the inverter warranty.
