Energy Net ENET-HBNP-01 plug-in module for wireless communication between SolarEdge inverters, Energy Bank battery and SolarEdge Home devices. This is the version for inverters already Energy Net ready (codes with BE), so it does not include the communication board and costs less than the complete kit. One is required per inverter. External antenna included.
The Energy Net ENET-HBNP-01 kit is the plug-in module that brings a SolarEdge inverter onto the SolarEdge Home wireless network, allowing it to communicate with the Energy Bank battery and other devices in the ecosystem without dedicated communication wiring. It is the version for inverters that are already Energy Net ready: the communication board is the inverter’s existing one and does not need to be replaced; only the module with its antenna is added.
Two letters in the code determine which kit to order
The distinction made by SolarEdge is clear and can be read directly on the inverter nameplate:

This kit covers both prepared three-phase SetApp inverters (SExxK-RW0xxBExx) and prepared three-phase StorEdge inverters (SExxK-RWSxxBExx). For inverters with LCD displays, there are other different variants, such as ENET-HBPV3D-01 for single-phase HD-Wave models and ENET-HBPJD-01 for three-phase SE3K-17K models, which replace the existing communication board.
It costs less than the complete kit, which is why you should check the code
Since it does not include the communication board, this module is the more affordable of the two options. However, ordering it for an inverter that is not Energy Net ready means ending up with a component that cannot be installed: checking the code takes just a few seconds and must be done before placing the order, not on site. You need one kit for each inverter, regardless of the number of batteries or devices connected.

Frequently asked questions
Is my inverter Energy Net ready?
The code on the nameplate tells you. If it contains the letters BE near the end, such as SExxK-RW0xxBExx for three-phase SetApp models or SExxK-RWSxxBExx for three-phase StorEdge models, the inverter is already prepared and this plug-in module is sufficient. If it contains BN instead, it is not prepared and requires the ENET-HBCL-01 kit, which also includes the compatible communication board.
What happens if I order this for a non-prepared inverter?
The module cannot be installed, because the inverter’s communication board does not have the socket to accept it. This is the typical ordering error for this family, encouraged by the fact that the module costs less than the complete kit. The code must be checked before ordering: it only takes a few seconds and avoids a second trip to the site.
How many are needed in a system with two batteries?
Only one, if there is one inverter. The kit equips the inverter, not the storage system, so the number depends on how many inverters need to be brought onto the SolarEdge Home network, not on how many batteries or smart devices are present. With two inverters, two modules are required, and the code must be checked separately on each one because they may belong to different generations.
Is it also needed if the inverter is already connected to the internet?
Yes, they are two different things. The Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection brings the inverter onto the monitoring portal; Energy Net, on the other hand, is the network that allows the system devices to communicate with each other, for example the inverter with the Energy Bank battery. Without this connection, the storage system is not managed, even if online monitoring works normally.
Is the antenna included or must it be purchased separately?
The external antenna is part of the kit. Energy Net plug-in boards are equipped with an external antenna specifically to ensure radio range between devices installed in different points of the technical room or home. During installation, the orientation indicated in the installation guide must be followed, as it affects the quality of the connection.
