Energy Net Kit ENET-HBCL-01 for wireless communication between SolarEdge inverters, the Energy Bank battery, and SolarEdge Home devices. This is the version for inverters with SetApp not Energy Net ready configuration (codes with BN) and also includes the compatible communication board. One per inverter is required. It occupies the cellular card slot and cannot coexist with the ZigBee module.
The Energy Net ENET-HBCL-01 kit is the wireless communication board that allows a SolarEdge inverter to communicate with the Energy Bank battery and with other devices in the SolarEdge Home network, without dedicated wiring. It is the version intended for inverters with SetApp configuration that are not already Energy Net ready: for this reason, the kit also includes the compatible communication board, not just the plug-in module.
How to tell whether you need this kit or the other one
SolarEdge distinguishes inverters based on just two letters in the product code, and this is the quickest check to make before ordering:

The logic is simple: if the inverter communication board is not designed to accept the plug-in module, you need a kit that also includes the new board. This is exactly what the ENET-HBCL-01 does. For HD-Wave inverters with LCD display, there is instead a third variant, ENET-HBPV3D-01, which replaces the existing board.
The key limitation to know first: there is only one socket
This is the constraint that is rarely written in price lists and is often discovered once the system has been started up. The module occupies the socket intended for the cellular board and, above all, the ZigBee module cannot be installed at the same time as Energy Net. If the system was designed to include cellular communication or an existing ZigBee connection, the choice must be made beforehand: they cannot coexist. Ethernet and Wi-Fi remain available for connection to the monitoring portal.
One per inverter
The kit is required once for each inverter to be connected to the SolarEdge Home network, regardless of how many batteries or devices are in the system. Installation is plug and play, with an external antenna, and does not require additional interfaces.

How do I know if my inverter is Energy Net ready?
Check the full inverter code on the nameplate. Inverters that are already prepared have the letters BE in the final part of the code, for example SExxK-RW0xxBExx, and for them the ENET-HBNP-01 plug-in module is sufficient. Those that are not prepared instead have BN, for example SExxxxH-RW0xxBNxx, and require this kit, which also includes the compatible communication board.
Can I keep both the cellular SIM and Energy Net?
No, and this must be decided before installation. The module occupies the socket intended for the cellular board, so the two solutions are mutually exclusive. The ZigBee module also cannot be installed at the same time as Energy Net. If the inverter must remain connected to the monitoring portal, the remaining options are Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection.
How many kits do I need if I have two inverters?
Two, one for each inverter to be added to the SolarEdge Home network. The number does not depend on how many batteries or smart devices are in the system: the kit equips the inverter, not the storage unit. If the two inverters belong to different generations, two kits with different codes may be required, so the code must be checked on each nameplate.
Is it also needed just for system monitoring?
No. System monitoring on the SolarEdge portal already works via Ethernet or Wi-Fi. Energy Net is used to allow the inverter to communicate with the other devices in the SolarEdge Home ecosystem, especially with the Energy Bank battery, avoiding the need to run dedicated communication wiring between devices installed in different locations.
Does installation require service support?
No, the kit is declared plug and play and does not require additional components or interfaces: the antenna is installed, the board is inserted, and configuration takes place automatically. The work must nevertheless be carried out by qualified personnel, with the inverter made safe according to the procedures in the manual, because it involves opening the device.
