SolaX X3-PRO-10K-G2 Three-phase Inverter 10 kW
The SolaX X3-PRO-10K-G2 is a 10 kW three-phase string photovoltaic inverter with 2 MPPT, up to 15 kWp PV array, maximum efficiency 98,2% and IP66 protection rating. Natural cooling without fans and integrated export control. With 11 kVA maximum apparent power, it remains below the 11,08 kW threshold of CEI 0-21: no external interface panel required.
The SolaX X3-PRO-10K-G2 inverter is a 10 kW three-phase string photovoltaic inverter designed for large homes, farms and small commercial businesses with a three-phase meter. Together with the 8 kW size, it is the only model in the X3-PRO G2 range that remains below the 11,08 kW threshold set by CEI 0-21, and this changes the final cost of the system.
Below 11,08 kW: no external interface panel
CEI 0-21 requires the panel with interface protection (SPI), dedicated interface device and test report only for systems exceeding 11,08 kW. The X3-PRO-10K-G2 declares 10 kW nominal power and 11 kVA maximum apparent power: it remains below the threshold and operates with the integrated interface protection only. Compared with the 12 kW size, you save on the SPI panel, test report and wiring hours. However, please note: the threshold is assessed on the total power of the system, not on the individual inverter, so if other units are present, the calculation starts again from the total.

How many modules can actually be installed
The recommended 15 kWp corresponds to 150% oversizing on the 10 kW nominal power: with 450 Wp modules, this means around 33 panels. However, the distribution is constrained: 2 MPPT with 2 strings each, 32 A maximum current per tracker and 40 A short-circuit current. With latest-generation TOPCon modules, which have Isc around 14-15 A, two strings in parallel on the same MPPT come close to the limit: the actual Isc of the module must always be checked before paralleling. Two orientations are managed well, three are not: in that case, a 3 MPPT size such as the 25 kW is required.
Export control and load management
The export control function is integrated into the inverter and is activated by connecting an external energy meter or TA: it allows compliance with any grid feed-in limits required by the distributor, down to zero export. The inverter also integrates smart load management, allowing control of a heat pump or wallbox during hours of excess photovoltaic production. 24-hour monitoring is handled via the Pocket WiFi, LAN or 4G dongle, while an LCD display and two status LEDs remain on board.
Frequently asked questions
Does the SolaX X3-PRO-10K-G2 require a CEI 0-21 interface panel?
No, if the system remains within 11,08 kW overall. The inverter declares 10 kW nominal power and 11 kVA maximum apparent power, so it falls within the case where the integrated interface protection is sufficient and no external SPI panel, dedicated interface device or test report is required. If other generators are added to the system, the total power must be recalculated.
How many panels can I connect to an X3-PRO-10K-G2?
The recommended PV power is 15 kWp, equal to 150% of the nominal power: around 33 modules of 450 Wp. The modules must be distributed over 2 MPPT with a maximum of 2 strings each and 32 A per tracker. The practical constraint is almost never power but current: with high-Isc modules, it is advisable to keep just one string per MPPT.
Does the X3-PRO-10K-G2 manage storage batteries?
No. It is a grid-connected string inverter and has no battery input. To add storage, an AC-side retrofit inverter is required, or replacement with a hybrid model from the SolaX range, such as the X3-Hybrid or X3-IES, which integrate high-voltage battery management and the backup EPS function.
Is it noisy? Can I install it near an inhabited area?
The 10 kW uses natural cooling, without fans, with typical emissions under 35 dB. It is the quietest size in the range: from 15 kW upwards, SolaX switches to forced ventilation and the level rises above 50 dB. For a technical room adjacent to a bedroom or office, this is a noticeable difference.
What is the difference between X3-PRO G2 and X3-MIC G2?
The PRO G2 is the higher power density line, with 32 A per MPPT, Type II SPD already present on both sides, smart load management and IP66 rating. The MIC G2 is the basic residential line, lighter and more cost-effective, with lower input currents. On systems with long strings or high-current modules, the PRO avoids the bottleneck on the DC input.
