SolaX X3-EPS Parallel Box G2 60 kW 6 Inverters

The SolaX X3-EPS Parallel Box G2 60 kW (X3-PBOX-60kW-G2) brings backup power to systems with several three-phase hybrid inverters in parallel: it collects the EPS outputs of up to 6 X3-G4 inverters and feeds one line of essential loads, single or three-phase, up to 60 kVA and 87 A.

21.7 A per channel, switchover under 10 seconds, IP65 enclosure, 17 kg. It is not a UPS: it is the collection and switching panel for parallel backup.

The SolaX X3-EPS Parallel Box G2 60 kW (part number X3-PBOX-60kW-G2) is the panel that makes backup operation possible when several three-phase hybrid inverters work in parallel. It collects the EPS outputs of up to six X3-G4 series inverters and routes them to a single line of essential loads, single-phase or three-phase, with a maximum apparent power of 60 kVA and a current of 87 A.

Why an EPS Parallel Box is needed

Every hybrid inverter has its own emergency output. With a single inverter, that line feeds the essential loads directly. When there are two, four or six inverters, the EPS outputs cannot simply be joined on a busbar: something has to disconnect the system from the grid when it fails, collect the contribution of each inverter, distribute it to the loads in a coordinated way and then return everything to the grid when power comes back.

That is exactly the job of the Parallel Box. The SolaX wiring diagram connects it to the grid, the meter and the hybrid inverters, with communication over RS485 and CAN: it is not just a terminal enclosure but part of the parallel control system.

Sizing: the 21.7 A per channel limit

The figure that decides the configuration is not total power but current per channel. At 400 V three-phase, 21.7 A corresponds to about 15 kVA: each EPS input of the box is designed for one inverter up to that size. The second limit is the total of 87 A, i.e. 60 kVA. Four 15 kW inverters fill the box exactly as six 10 kW inverters do; six 15 kW inverters exceed the total limit and need the 150 kW model.

Before ordering, check two things: that no inverter exceeds the rating of its channel and that the sum of EPS power stays within 60 kVA. The general SolaX parallel rule also applies: inverters of the same series and size, with equivalent battery storage.

What it does not do: switchover and protection

The declared switchover is under 10 seconds: fine for lighting, pumps, cold rooms, automation and service loads, but not for servers or machines with electronics that cannot tolerate an interruption. Those loads still need a dedicated UPS downstream. The box also does not replace the interface protection system required by the local grid connection rules, which must be provided separately according to plant size.

Mind the installation site: the enclosure is IP65 and tolerates condensation, but the maximum operating ambient temperature is 40 °C. A south-facing wall or an unventilated plant room can exceed it in summer.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Parallel Box G2 work with SolaX X3-ULTRA inverters?

No. SolaX declares the G2 version compatible only with X3-G4 series inverters. For X3-ULTRA the manufacturer specifies the G2.1 version, which supports both X3-G4 and X3-ULTRA. Check the series of the installed or planned inverters before ordering.

How long is the interruption when the grid fails?

The declared switchover time is less than 10 seconds. For most residential, commercial and service loads this is acceptable; loads that cannot tolerate any interruption need a dedicated UPS.

Can single-phase loads be supplied?

Yes. The load side accepts single-phase or three-phase connection at 220/380, 230/400 or 240/415 V. Large single-phase loads should be spread across the three phases so that one phase does not saturate before the available power is used.

How many inverters can be connected?

Up to six, under two conditions: each inverter must stay within the 21.7 A of its channel, about 15 kVA at 400 V, and the sum must not exceed 87 A, i.e. 60 kVA. Beyond these values the 150 kW model is needed, which handles up to ten inverters.

Can it be installed outdoors?

The IP65 rating allows it, as do condensing humidity and altitudes up to 3,000 m. The real limit is temperature: above 40 °C ambient the unit is outside its declared operating range, so choose a shaded, ventilated position.
