The SolarEdge SE10000H-RWSKBF57 is the multi-range single-phase hybrid inverter from the SolarEdge Home Hub line: a single product code that replaces the entire previous single-phase range, both HD-Wave and Hub. The output power is selected on site from the configuration app, choosing between 2,2 - 3 - 3,68 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 8 and 10 kW.

From twelve codes to just one: what changes for installers

The benefit is entirely logistical and very practical for anyone managing stock: a single item covers every single-phase residential size. The risk of ordering the wrong size disappears, tied-up inventory is reduced, and a minimal stock covers all jobs. If the power agreed with the distributor changes during the grid-connection phase, the inverter is simply reconfigured instead of being replaced. The Energy Net communication board is already integrated, as is Wi-Fi.

Important: in Italy it goes up to 6 kW, not 10

This is the limit that must be stated before anything else. The 8 and 10 kW sizes selectable on this inverter cannot be used on the Italian market, because single-phase generation is permitted up to 6 kW: above that threshold, the connection must be three-phase. In Italy, this code therefore usefully covers configurations from 2,2 to 6 kW, which still represent almost the entire residential market. Anyone looking for 8 or 10 kW must choose the three-phase Home Hub family.

Hybrid, with separate backup

It is an inverter for storage and backup applications, with a direct-current coupling architecture: excess photovoltaic energy goes into the battery without double conversion. Here too, however, backup requires an optional external interface, which is not included in the inverter price: it is an item to include in the quote from the outset if the customer expects power during a blackout. The inverter can also charge the battery from the grid, a useful function for those with a tariff featuring different time bands.

The weighted efficiency reaches 99% and DC oversizing is permitted up to 200%. Integrated protection against electric arc faults and monitoring at individual module level complete the picture, together with full visibility of battery status and self-consumption data.

Can I really use it at 10 kW in Italy?

No. Single-phase generation in Italy is permitted up to 6 kW: above that threshold, the connection must be three-phase. The 8 and 10 kW sizes selectable on this inverter are intended for other markets and cannot be used in Italy. For power ratings above 6 kW, a three-phase inverter from the Home Hub line must be selected.

How is the inverter power set?

The size is chosen during commissioning from the SolarEdge configuration app, without any hardware intervention. This means that if the power agreed with the distributor changes between the quote and the grid connection, the inverter is simply reconfigured instead of being replaced. The configuration must in any case be consistent with what is declared in the connection application.

Is backup included?

No. The inverter is designed for backup applications, but an optional external backup interface is required and must be purchased separately, in addition to the battery. This should be clarified with the customer at the quotation stage, because the promise of continuity during blackouts is often taken for granted by looking only at the inverter code.

Can I charge the battery from the grid during low-tariff hours?

Yes, battery charging from the grid is supported. It is a function that makes sense with contracts featuring different time bands or variable hourly tariffs: energy is stored when it costs less and used during peak hours. The cost-effectiveness must be assessed based on the specific supply contract and the number of additional cycles imposed on the battery.

Are SolarEdge optimizers still required?

Yes. Like the entire SolarEdge platform, this inverter also works exclusively with SolarEdge power optimizers installed on the modules: they keep the string voltage constant and make monitoring at individual panel level possible. The cost of the optimizers must always be included when comparing it with a traditional hybrid inverter.
