When is the Solax EVC Pedestal needed?
In many installations — uncovered parking spaces, company courtyards, condominium parking areas, public parking lots — there is no wall adjacent to the parking area on which to directly mount the wallbox. The Solax EVC Pedestal elegantly solves this problem: it is fixed to the floor with expansion bolts, serves as a structural support for the wallbox, and allows internal routing of power and communication cables, ensuring a tidy and safe installation.

Yes. The Solax EVC Pedestal is suitable for outdoor installation. The powder coating protects the steel structure from weathering. The environmental resistance of the entire system (pedestal + wallbox) also depends on the IP rating of the installed wallbox: Solax EVC wallboxes are certified up to IP54 for outdoor use.
Do the power and communication cables run inside the pedestal?
Yes. The Solax EVC Pedestal is designed with an internal channel for routing AC power cables (from the electrical panel to the wallbox) and, if necessary, communication cables (RS485, Ethernet). This way, there are no visible cables outside the column, resulting in a tidy and professional installation.
How is the Solax EVC Pedestal installed?
The Solax EVC Pedestal is fixed to the floor using expansion bolts included in the mounting kit. The base must be placed on a flat and solid surface (concrete, reinforced asphalt). The power cables are brought up from below through the hollow rod at the base, routed internally up the column, and connected to the wallbox mounted at the top. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
What is the difference between installing the wallbox on a wall or on a pedestal?
Wall installation is the standard solution when a vertical surface is available next to the parking space — it is simpler and less expensive. The Solax EVC Pedestal is the choice when there is no suitable wall (uncovered parking spaces, outdoor areas, parking lots on open grounds). Functionally, the wallbox works identically in both configurations; only the mechanical support system changes.
