TBMS-MCS0800E
The Solax TBMS-MCS0800E is the BMS (Battery Management System) module dedicated to high-voltage storage systems with TP-HS50E batteries. Compatible with X1-IES and X3-IES hybrid inverters, it manages from 1 to 6 battery modules, ensuring cell balancing, overcharge/overdischarge protection, and bidirectional communication with the inverter. Base for modules included in the supply.
The Solax TBMS-MCS0800E is the essential control unit for any photovoltaic storage system based on TP-HS50E high voltage (HV) battery modules. Without this component, the battery modules cannot operate safely and in coordination with the hybrid inverter of the X1-IES or X3-IES series.
What is a BMS and why is it essential?
The Battery Management System (BMS) is the "control center" of the storage system. The TBMS-MCS0800E monitors in real time the status of each battery module, manages the charge and discharge cycles, and maintains constant communication between the battery pack and the hybrid inverter. Without a BMS, the batteries are not protected against overcharging, deep discharge, or overheating, posing risks to the safety and longevity of the system.

When is the TBMS-MCS0800E required?
This module is mandatory in any installation that uses Solax TP-HS50E batteries paired with inverters from the X1-IES or X3-IES series. Only one BMS per inverter is needed: if you use an X3-IES inverter with a 10 to 30 kWh system made up of 2 to 6 TP-HS50E modules, the TBMS-MCS0800E is the control unit that coordinates the entire battery pack. For configurations with more than 4 modules (over 20.4 kWh), the Series Box is also required to connect the second battery column.
Note: For G4 hybrid inverters (X1-Hybrid G4 or X3-Hybrid G4), the TBMS-MCS0800E-D version is required, which is not compatible with IES inverters.
What is included in the supply?
- TBMS-MCS0800E BMS module
- Base for battery modules (base included, dimensions 730 × 75 × 150 mm, weight 3.9 kg)
- Connection cabling for BMS-inverter communication
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the TBMS-MCS0800E compatible with all Solax inverters?
No. The TBMS-MCS0800E is designed exclusively for the X1-IES (single-phase) and X3-IES (three-phase) inverter series. For G4 hybrid inverters (X1-Hybrid G4 and X3-Hybrid G4), you must use the TBMS-MCS0800E-D version. The two models are not interchangeable.
How many TP-HS50E batteries can I connect to a single TBMS-MCS0800E?
The TBMS-MCS0800E manages 1 to 6 TP-HS50E battery modules, for a total system capacity between 5.1 kWh and 30.6 kWh. For configurations with 5 or 6 modules (more than 4 batteries in a single column), you need to add the Solax Series Box, which allows the connection of a second battery column.
Is the base for the battery modules already included with the TBMS-MCS0800E?
Yes. The TBMS-MCS0800E supply includes the base for the battery modules (dimensions 730 × 75 × 150 mm, weight 3.9 kg). Therefore, you do not need to purchase the base separately for the first battery column. For multi-column installations, the additional base is supplied with the Series Box.
Does the Solax BMS protect the batteries from overcharging and overheating?
Yes. The TBMS-MCS0800E monitors in real time the voltage, current, and temperature of each cell within the TP-HS50E modules. It automatically intervenes in case of overcharge, deep discharge, overtemperature, and short circuit, interrupting the current cycle to preserve cell integrity and ensure system safety. Active cell balancing extends the useful life of the entire battery pack.
How does the TBMS-MCS0800E communicate with the Solax IES inverter?
The TBMS-MCS0800E connects directly to the X1-IES or X3-IES inverter via the proprietary Solax communication cable included in the supply. The communication protocol is integrated into the IES inverter firmware: once correctly connected, the BMS and inverter automatically recognize each other and the system is operational without additional configuration. The IP65 protection rating also makes it suitable for installations in environments that are not fully protected.
