SolaX X3-EPS Parallel Box G2 300 kW C&I Backup

The SolaX X3-EPS Parallel Box G2 300 kW (X3-PBOX-300kW-G2) is the top model for commercial and industrial backup with hybrid inverters in parallel: 300 kVA, 478 A and 95.6 A per channel, up to 10 inverters.

IP65 cabinet, 100 kg (880 x 1080 x 270 mm), switchover under 10 s, single or three-phase loads.

The SolaX X3-EPS Parallel Box G2 300 kW (part number X3-PBOX-300kW-G2) is the largest model in the SolaX range of panels for backup with inverters in parallel. It handles up to 300 kVA and 478 A on the load side, with EPS channels rated 95.6 A: it is designed for commercial and industrial plants where continuity of essential loads matters as much as solar production.

A panel to be designed in, not just added

At this size the Parallel Box stops being an accessory and becomes part of the electrical design. Weighing 100 kg with a footprint of 880 x 1080 x 270 mm, it needs a verified mounting surface, suitable lifting equipment and working space for conductors sized for currents up to 478 A. Define its position at the design stage, together with cable routes to the inverters, the main switchboard and the essential-load line.

Location matters for another reason too: the declared operating range goes up to 40 °C ambient. In an uninsulated warehouse or on an exposed wall that value is easily exceeded in summer: a ventilated plant room is the better choice.

How many inverters, and which

A note in the SolaX datasheet explains that the number of inverters depends on the ratio between box power and single-inverter power: 6 units with 50 kW inverters, 10 units with 30 kW inverters. The 95.6 A per channel corresponds to about 66 kVA at 400 V: each input has headroom for large inverters, while the overall ceiling stays at 300 kVA.

On compatibility, SolaX specifies the G2 series for X3-G4 inverters and reserves the extension to X3-ULTRA for the G2.1 version. Since the datasheet examples refer to 30 and 50 kW inverters, it is wise to confirm the planned inverter model with MR WATT before ordering: this check avoids receiving a panel that cannot be paired with the system.

What is not included

The box collects and switches backup power but lists no interface protection functions. Plants of this size are normally connected at medium voltage, with general and interface protection to be provided separately according to the local grid code. The switchover, declared at under 10 seconds, does not replace a UPS for loads that cannot tolerate interruptions.

Frequently asked questions

How many inverters connect to the 300 kW Parallel Box?

Up to ten, but the real number depends on size: according to the SolaX datasheet, 6 with 50 kW inverters and 10 with 30 kW inverters. In any case the total must not exceed 478 A, i.e. 300 kVA.

How does it differ from the 150 kW model?

It doubles total power, from 150 to 300 kVA, and above all the rating of each channel, from 43.5 to 95.6 A: it is the model to choose when individual inverters exceed 30 kW. Size and weight also change, from 42.5 to 100 kg.

Does it need a dedicated room?

It is not mandatory, since the enclosure is IP65, but it is advisable: the 100 kg weight requires solid fixing and ambient temperature must not exceed 40 °C. A ventilated plant room solves both constraints.

Is the backup instantaneous?

No. The declared switchover is under 10 seconds, suitable for lighting, pumps, refrigeration and services. Servers, process controls and interruption-sensitive machines should be protected by a dedicated UPS.

Is it compatible with any SolaX inverter?

No. The G2 version is declared for the X3-G4 series, while the G2.1 adds X3-ULTRA. Inverters in parallel must also be of the same series and size. For this model, confirming compatibility before ordering is a step not to skip.
