SolaX X3-EPS Parallel Box G2 150 kW 10 Inverters
The SolaX X3-EPS Parallel Box G2 150 kW (X3-PBOX-150kW-G2) manages backup for commercial systems with up to 10 hybrid inverters in parallel: 150 kVA, 217 A total and 43.5 A per channel, single or three-phase loads.
G2 version for X3-G4 inverters: X3-ULTRA requires the G2.1. Switchover under 10 s, IP65, 42.5 kg.
The SolaX X3-EPS Parallel Box G2 150 kW (part number X3-PBOX-150kW-G2) is the mid-size model in the SolaX range of panels for backup with hybrid inverters in parallel. It accepts up to ten inverters, handles 150 kVA and 217 A on the load side and is aimed at warehouses, farms, hospitality venues and small industrial sites that want to keep essential loads running during a grid outage.
G2 or G2.1: the choice to make before ordering
This is the easiest ordering mistake to make with this product. SolaX builds the 150 kW Parallel Box in two versions: the G2, the one on this page, is declared compatible only with X3-G4 series inverters; the G2.1 adds compatibility with X3-ULTRA. If the system uses or will use X3-ULTRA inverters, the G2 is not the right product.
The general parallel rule also applies: inverters of the same series and size, with equivalent storage capacity. A mixed parallel setup is not supported and would make it impossible to share loads correctly in island mode.

Reading the numbers: 43.5 A per channel and 217 A in total
At 400 V three-phase, the 43.5 A of each channel corresponds to about 30 kVA: each EPS input therefore has twice the rating of the 60 kW model. The overall ceiling remains 217 A, i.e. 150 kVA. With 15 kW inverters, ten units fill the box exactly; with larger inverters the number of units drops, because what counts is always the sum of currents, not the number of inputs.
A design tip: size the backup on the essential loads, not on the installed PV power. A 150 kVA box fed by batteries delivering far less than that remains limited by the batteries, and the island-mode loads must be selected accordingly.
What stays outside the Parallel Box
The datasheet lists no interface protection functions. The interface protection system and interface switch must therefore be provided according to the applicable grid connection rules, which for plants above roughly 100 kW usually means a medium-voltage connection with its own protection requirements. The switchover, declared at under 10 seconds, must also be considered in the design: loads that cannot tolerate interruptions need a dedicated UPS.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use the 150 kW Parallel Box G2 with X3-ULTRA inverters?
No. The G2 version is compatible only with SolaX X3-G4 inverters. For X3-ULTRA, SolaX offers the G2.1 version, compatible with both series. Check the exact inverter model before ordering.
How many inverters can I connect?
Up to ten, provided each stays within the 43.5 A of its channel, about 30 kVA at 400 V, and the sum does not exceed 217 A total, i.e. 150 kVA. With large inverters the real limit is total current, not the number of inputs.
Does backup start automatically when the grid fails?
Yes, switchover to the essential loads is automatic and takes less than 10 seconds. When the grid returns, the system moves the loads back to normal supply. The inverters still need batteries with available energy.
Does it replace the interface protection panel?
No. The Parallel Box handles collection and switching of backup power, but the interface protection required by the grid connection rules must be provided separately, with the settings imposed by the network operator.
How much space does installation require?
The enclosure measures 776 x 740 x 234 mm and weighs 42.5 kg: it needs a wall or frame able to carry it and should be handled by two people. It is IP65, but ambient temperature must not exceed 40 °C, so a ventilated plant room or shaded wall is preferable.
