SolaX Pocket 4G with SIM and 5 Years of Traffic
4G communication module for SolaX inverters: it sends production data to the SolaX Cloud portal over the mobile network, with no dependence on home Wi-Fi.
SIM included with 5 years of data traffic: no subscription to activate. The right choice when the inverter is far from the router, in a basement or technical room, or where there is no fixed internet line.
The SolaX Pocket 4G 3.0 is the cellular communication module for SolaX inverters: it plugs into the inverter's dedicated port and sends production data to the SolaX Cloud portal over the 4G mobile network, with no dependence on home Wi-Fi. The SIM is already included, with 5 years of data traffic.
When Wi-Fi is not enough
On paper the Wi-Fi dongle is the cheapest option. In practice inverters almost always end up in the worst spots of the building: garage, basement, technical room, an outside wall, often inside a metal cabinet. The result is monitoring that drops out intermittently, and in many cases a fault is only noticed weeks later, from the electricity bill.
The Pocket 4G solves the problem at the root: it uses the mobile operator's coverage instead of the router. It is the right choice in three recurring situations:
- Inverter far from the router or separated by load-bearing walls, where the Wi-Fi signal is weak or absent
- Systems on second homes, warehouses, farms where a fixed internet connection simply does not exist
- Installations where you do not want to touch the customer's network, avoiding passwords, router changes and support calls every time the home network is modified
Why 5 years of included traffic matters
The item that usually slips through when comparing 4G dongles is not the price of the device but the recurring cost of connectivity. Here the data traffic is already covered for 5 years: no SIM to activate, no contract to sign, no annual renewal to remember. Over time, it is precisely this item that determines the real cost of monitoring.

Frequently asked questions
Is the Pocket 4G an inverter?
No, and it is worth clarifying because the name is misleading. The Pocket 4G does not convert energy and has no power output: it is a communication module that transmits the inverter's data to the cloud over the mobile network. The inverter is a separate device, and this dongle simply connects it to the internet.
Do I have to activate the SIM or pay a subscription?
No. The SIM is already fitted and the data traffic is included for 5 years: plug in the module, link the plant to the SolaX Cloud portal and monitoring starts. There are no contracts to sign or periodic top-ups within the covered period.
Can I fit it on an inverter of another brand?
No: the connector and protocol are specific to SolaX inverters with the communication-module port. Check your inverter manual for the dongle port and compatibility with the Pocket series before ordering.
Do I still need Wi-Fi at home?
No, and that is exactly the point: the Pocket 4G works autonomously on the mobile network. The system stays monitored even if the router is switched off, replaced, or if there is no fixed line at all. It does, however, need acceptable 4G coverage where the inverter is installed.
What if the inverter is inside a metal cabinet?
The same principle applies as a phone in a lift: a closed metal enclosure strongly attenuates the radio signal. If the inverter is in a metal cabinet, check reception with the door closed during commissioning, and if the signal is weak consider a different inverter location or an external-antenna solution.
