The ZCS Azzurro ZVM-LBC-3PH-G2 Load Balancing Controller is the second-generation device for dynamic load balancing of Caro wallboxes from 7, 11 and 22 kW. It measures the installation's consumption with three 100 A current transformers (24 mm window), communicates over Wi-Fi or Ethernet and is configured and controlled from a dedicated app.

What it adds compared with a simple meter

The ZVM-CARO-METER meters only measure and pass the data to the wallbox via RS485. The G2 controller adds network connectivity and app management: you see consumption in real time, set the power limit to respect and check how charging behaves without opening the distribution board. With the split-core CTs included it can also be installed in existing boards without opening the line.

What load balancing is worth in practice

Take a business with a 30 kW three-phase supply and a 22 kW Caro wallbox. During the day machinery and air conditioning may draw 20 kW: without control, full-power charging would push demand to 42 kW and trip the main protection. With the controller the wallbox drops to about 10 kW at peak times and returns to 22 kW as soon as consumption falls. Same principle at home with smaller numbers: you charge without increasing the contracted power.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with single-phase Caro models?

The controller is specified for the whole Caro range from 7, 11 and 22 kW; the 7 kW version is single-phase. On single-phase supplies the CT is used on the supply phase.

What range do the CTs have?

100 A per phase, with a 24 mm window. They cover household supplies and most low-voltage commercial supplies.

Is an internet connection required?

The controller communicates over Wi-Fi or Ethernet. The connection is needed for app management and monitoring; the choice between Wi-Fi and cable depends on the board's location and signal quality.

G2 controller or RS485 meter?

The meter is the simplest and cheapest solution when limiting charging is all you need. The G2 controller pays off when you want monitoring, app control and installation with split-core CTs.

Who installs it?

A qualified electrician, who places the CTs on the main line after the utility meter and certifies the charging installation.
