The Solax X3-HAC-22S is the professional three-phase wallbox with 22 kW by SolaX Power, designed for fast charging of electric vehicles in private residential environments with a three-phase contract, company parking lots, and commercial facilities. The "S" (socket) version is equipped with a Type 2 socket without an integrated cable, for those who prefer to choose and store their own charging cable separately.

Integrated smart solar charging with the Solax ecosystem

The main strength of the X3-HAC-22S is its native integration with Solax hybrid inverters via RS485. Thanks to the direct connection with the inverter or via CT/smart meter, the wallbox can operate in three modes: Fast (maximum power from the grid), Green (preferential charging with excess solar energy), and Eco (constant power set by the user). This allows you to maximize photovoltaic self-consumption and reduce charging costs.

When should you choose the S (socket) version instead of the P (integrated cable) version?

The X3-HAC-22 family is available in two variants: X3-HAC-22S with Type 2 socket (socket, separate cable) and X3-HAC-22P with integrated cable. The S version is preferable when you want to choose the cable separately, in installations where the cable is kept in the car, or in company parking lots where multiple users use their own cables. For residential installations where the convenience of always having the cable at hand is a priority, the P version with integrated cable is the most practical choice.

What is included in the supply?

  • Solax X3-HAC-22S wallbox with Type 2 socket
  • Wall mounting plate
  • CT current transformer with 1 m cable
  • 2 RFID cards

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Solax X3-HAC-22S compatible with all electric vehicles?

Yes. The Type 2 socket (IEC 62196-2) is the European standard for AC charging: it is compatible with all electric vehicles and PHEVs sold in Europe (Tesla, BMW, VW, Renault, Audi, Mercedes, Stellantis, etc.). For 22 kW three-phase charging, the vehicle must support three-phase charging — many PHEVs and some EVs only charge in single-phase, thus reaching their maximum charging power but not necessarily 22 kW.

Can I use the X3-HAC-22S without a Solax inverter?

Yes. The X3-HAC-22S works in standalone mode as a standard wallbox, without the need for a Solax inverter. In this case, it operates in Fast mode (fixed power), managed via the SolaX Cloud app and RFID authentication. Integration with the Solax inverter unlocks the Green smart solar charging mode, but it is not a mandatory requirement for basic operation.

Does the X3-HAC-22S support the OCPP protocol for business management?

Yes. The X3-HAC-22S G2 supports OCPP 1.6j, the standard for communication between wallboxes and charging management systems (CPMS). This allows integration with company fleet management platforms, charging billing for multiple users, and remote control. For multi-point systems with several wallboxes, check the available load balancing functions.

Do I need a three-phase contract to install the X3-HAC-22S?

Yes. The X3-HAC-22S requires a three-phase 400V power supply and can deliver up to 32A per phase. For domestic installation, you need to have a three-phase supply contract. For lower power or homes with a single-phase contract, the single-phase X1-HAC-7 version with 7.2 kW is available. A qualified electrician can check the compatibility of the existing system before installation.

Can the X3-HAC-22S wallbox be installed outdoors?

Yes, with the proper precautions. The X3-HAC-22S has an IP54 protection rating, making it suitable for installation in semi-protected environments (canopies, covered parking lots). For installations fully exposed to the elements or in coastal areas with high humidity and salt, it is recommended to consider additional protective covering. For installations on open yards without a wall, the Solax EVC Pedestal is available as a floor support.
