Vivax M Design Air Conditioner 9000 BTU 2.6 kW
Inverter single-split air conditioner Vivax M Design 9000 BTU: 2.64 kW cooling, 2.93 kW heating, class A++/A+, SEER 6.3 / SCOP 4.0, R32 refrigerant.
Heat pump down to -15 °C outdoors, indoor and outdoor units included, 60-month warranty. Installation by an F-gas certified technician.
The Vivax M Design Air Conditioner 9000 BTU 2.6 kW (model ACP-09CH25AEMIs R32) is a wall-mounted single-split inverter heat pump air conditioner: it cools with 2.64 kW (9000 BTU) and heats with 2.93 kW nominal.
The M Design series is Vivax's line for buyers who want a reliable inverter with a sensible balance between running costs and price: energy class A++/A+, R32 refrigerant and the I Feel function, which controls the room on the temperature measured at the remote rather than at the wall unit.
The 9000 BTU size is roughly suited to bedrooms and studies up to 20-25 m². Correct sizing always depends on insulation, orientation and glazed area.
Why pair it with solar PV
Cooling demand peaks in the middle of summer days, exactly when PV modules produce the most. An inverter air conditioner modulates compressor power instead of cycling on and off, so it follows rooftop production and uses self-generated energy instead of drawing it from the grid.
With SEER 6.3 and SCOP 4.0, every kWh of electricity becomes on average more than 6 kWh of cooling in summer and 4 kWh of heat in winter: with solar PV, part of those kWh comes from your roof instead of the grid. With a battery storage system, surplus daytime energy also runs the air conditioner in the evening.

Installation and what to know before buying
- The refrigerant circuit must be connected by an F-gas certified technician or company, as required by Regulation (EU) 2024/573.
- The supply includes the indoor unit, outdoor unit and remote control. Copper pipes, brackets and installation material must be planned separately unless stated otherwise in the order.
- Pipe diameters, maximum lengths and height differences are given in the installation manual: check them before the site survey.
- Single-phase 220-240 V supply: for the larger sizes the installer assesses a dedicated line with suitable protection.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between M Design and Q Design?
Size for size, declared performance is the same: same class A++/A+, same SEER/SCOP and same unit dimensions. The front design and price positioning differ, with Q Design as the entry-level series.
How many square metres does a 9000 BTU air conditioner cover?
Roughly 20-25 m² with average insulation and standard ceiling height. Heavily glazed rooms, attics or south-west facing spaces need more capacity: if in doubt, ask the installer for a heat load calculation.
Can it be connected to a solar PV system?
No special connection is needed: the air conditioner is a normal household load. Thanks to the inverter it draws power continuously and in a modulated way, so during sunny hours it mainly uses the energy from your modules. To maximise self-consumption, schedule operation in the middle of the day, also from the app with the Wi-Fi module.
Can I install it myself?
No. The units must be connected with refrigerant piping by F-gas certified technicians: this is required by Regulation (EU) 2024/573 and is a condition for the warranty. The technician also performs evacuation, leak testing and commissioning.
Does the Vivax M Design 9000 BTU also heat in winter?
Yes. It is a reversible air-to-air heat pump: it delivers 2.93 kW nominal heating and works down to -15 °C outdoors. In mild climates it can be the main heating for the room it serves; in cold areas it is best used alongside an existing heating system.
