Solartronics 1500 W 12 V modified-wave inverter USB converts battery energy into 230 V AC for motorhomes, boats and off-grid systems, with power selected against the loads actually used.

Waveform, surge capability, battery voltage and DC current matter more than a headline wattage alone; this page explains them in practical terms.

Why choose it

Continuous power covers normal operation, while surge power is only for load startup within the stated duration and conditions. Pure sine is preferred for sensitive electronics; modified wave requires appliance compatibility. This model provides 1500 W continuous, 3000 W surge, USB, two Schuko sockets and DC cables.

  • Continuous power: 1500 W
  • Surge power: 3000 W
  • Waveform: modified sine wave

Battery and cable sizing

Estimated battery current starts with power divided by voltage, but inverter losses increase the real value. At 600 W from 12 V it readily exceeds 50 A, so cable size, distance, fuse and battery capacity must be designed together.

Install in a dry, ventilated position close to the battery but away from heat and vapours. Never feed vehicle or building wiring through improvised connections.

Frequently asked questions

Can it run a fridge or coffee machine?

Only when continuous power, startup surge and waveform suit the appliance. Motors, compressors and heaters may demand more than their label rating.

How much battery current does it draw?

The minimum estimate is power divided by voltage; losses and surges raise it. At 600 W from 12 V, plan for more than 50 A before sizing cable and fuse.

Can surge power be used continuously?

No. Surge power is available only for the manufacturer’s stated time and is mainly intended for startup loads.

Are pure and modified sine equivalent?

No. Pure sine more closely matches mains power and suits sensitive loads; modified wave is only for devices that accept it.

How is it installed safely?

Use short correctly sized DC cables, a fuse close to the battery, clear ventilation, compliant earthing and manual-approved wiring.
