Alfen Standard Load Balancing Licence 905661010

Alfen 905661010 Standard Load Balancing (SLB) software licence automatically shares the available power between the two sockets of a compatible Alfen Double/Twin charging station. It requires no external meter, but charger compatibility and installer configuration must be verified.

The Alfen 905661010 Standard Load Balancing (SLB) licence enables power balancing between the two sockets of the same compatible Alfen Double/Twin charging station. When two vehicles are connected at the same time, the charger distributes the available power between both charging points; when one session ends, the released capacity can be assigned to the other vehicle.

Why use Alfen Standard Load Balancing?

Standard Load Balancing prevents both sockets of the same charging station from trying to use all the configured power simultaneously. It is useful in company car parks, commercial sites, hotels and installations where a dual-socket charger must serve two vehicles with a defined electrical capacity. The feature manages the charger’s sockets but does not by itself measure the total consumption of the building.

Compatibility and requirements before purchase

Before ordering, check the charger model, serial number, hardware and firmware. The feature is intended for dual-socket stations; a single-socket Alfen charger has no second output to balance. The licence must be unlocked on a compatible station, and the current limits must be configured by the installer.

What does the licence include?

  • Activation of Alfen Standard Load Balancing on the compatible station.
  • The licence key or unlocking procedure associated with the ordered configuration.
  • Information needed by the installer to complete activation.

The licence does not include a charging station, wiring or electrical installation work. If compatibility has not already been confirmed, provide MR WATT with the model, serial number and firmware before purchase.

How does it work with two connected cars?

  • With one vehicle connected, the socket uses the power allowed by the charger configuration.
  • When a second vehicle connects, the available power is shared between both sockets.
  • If one charging session ends or draws less current, the released capacity can become available to the other socket.

Actual charging speed depends on the power configured for the station and each vehicle’s onboard charger. To control charging according to all building loads, use Alfen Active Load Balancing 905661011 with a compatible external measurement system.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between SLB 905661010 and ALB 905661011?

SLB shares power between the two sockets of the same Alfen Double/Twin station. ALB uses an external meter or system to measure the consumption of the entire installation and dynamically changes the power available for EV charging.

Is licence 905661010 compatible with every Alfen charger?

No. It is intended for compatible Alfen models with two sockets. Model, serial number and firmware must be checked before ordering; a single-socket charger cannot use this feature to balance power between sockets.

Does Standard Load Balancing require an external smart meter?

No, not to share power between the two sockets of the same charger. If household or building consumption must also be considered, an Active Load Balancing solution with an external measurement system is required.

What happens when I connect two cars at the same time?

The station shares its configured power between both charging sessions. When one car finishes or reduces its demand, the other can receive a larger share, within the charger limits and the power accepted by the vehicle.

Can this licence manage several charging stations?

Not by itself. Standard Load Balancing applies to the two sockets of one station. A Smart Charging Network is required to distribute power among several chargers, and the necessary licences and system configuration must be checked separately.
